How to overcome fear, firstly we do need to know just what is fear, most of us are frightened of something because we think it will bring us unpleasant feelings of pain, will do us harm or put us in some form of danger.
These feeling can be about things, like flying, because we fear that the plane will crash and we will die, like creatures, most of you will know someone who is frightened of spiders, or it could be a bully, probably the worst type is the bully.
Now in most cases the danger and the physical pain and discomfort is minimal at best, I mean very few spiders can actually hurt you in any way, the number of people hurt in plane crashes is very low relative to the number of flights. But the fear and it consequences are very real.
However we are pre- programmed as humans to recognize certain situations and the emotional response of fear is what will keep us safe and out of harm. In effect some fear is good and this will pass very quickly, some fear will last a while and this is not good.

The symptoms of fear can be very similar to anxiety and anxiety attacks, frozen to the spot, heart beating way too fast, chest pains, stomach churning and dizziness are many of the same symptoms of fear and anxiety.
